  Need awesome suggestions!

  for the last four days, every morning i take donut out for her walk, i always find jw's preaching door to door across the street.

  i always cross to them, and wait with dread at what i think is inevitable: they will try to preach to me.. but it never happens.

  four days, seen three diifferent groups, nothing.

  I understand about the snubbing, but I wonder if saying something would accomplish anything?

  perles before swine and all.

  Its really they, who have the problem, not you.

  However, something that might help: when they are standing there with a smug look on their face,

  just imagine them sat on the toilet.....constipated. And try not to laugh.

  she was a child.

  how can you expect a child to make such a decision?.

  You had to be baptised to pioneer.

  You needed to pioneer if you wanted to be accepted by you friends.

  You needed to leave school as soon as possible to pioneer.

  SO.....................

  You needed to be baptised before leaving school.

  @charlie brown jr: almost seems that we went to the same congregation.

  Did the organization become more mean spirited after the Elders were appointed?

  my wife and i walked out of the jw world when we were in our early twenties.

  this was in the mid 1960's.

  we had pioneered where the need was great and i held three positions in our small congregation: assistant presiding minister, ministry school servant and bible study servant (as we were called then) .

  I was only a boy but I remember our Presiding Minister, a stalwart man who everyone respected.

  By the end of my life sentence, elders were appointed, often by other family member elders.

  It was possible to see power struggles between the different factions. I have witnessed at elders meetings

  the clear sides taken between the different factions. Bodies of elders became large : 15 members becoming common. I could respect the honest heartedness of about 1/3 of them. The rest were just looking to be somebody: a big fish in a small pond.

  My Grandma's dying...I found out by way of an impersonal text message.

  yesterday at work i received a text message from my sister that my 91 yr old grandmother is unconscious, her organs are shutting down, and they're just keeping her comfortable.

  she said that they moved her to a group home, and gave me the address.

  i thanked her for letting me know.

  Im sorry to hear about your grandma.

  My own mother is aging and I wonder , the time come,if I will go to her funeral.

  I imagine doing as willyloman suggests: a memorial of my own, by the graveside.

  Sadly, another example of "brotherly love".

  ok so my friend is an un-baptized jw who is in love with a baptized jw.

  he's going through all the drama of being in love with a jw.

  i keep telling him that if he gets baptized, it should be coming from his heart and love for jehovah, not his love for some girl.

  yes.

  But accept that it is his choice in the end. That is difficult, I know.

  Be there for him if he needs you. You might well be the only friend he has then.

  Hello Everyone! Heres my story!

  i'm new here, and although i have been a lurker for several months now, its nice to finally dive in and join you all.

  i hope that i find some friends as thats what i'm really looking for, i've seen enough proof that theres real love outside of this religious prison that i've biult for myself over the years, but i would like to feel it firsthand.

  it's been a little hard to post anything since it's not easy being around in websites like these when you're still in and theres other jw's around sticking their noses everywhere, but now that i've found the time, i would like to share a bit about my story.... this is an email i sent paul grundy, (creator of jwfacts.com) and it basically sums up the story of my life... so i thought it would be good if you all had a read as well.

  Reading up a bit now, aparently the jws took the publisher to court for defamation ( and lost). The author, Nicolas, gave witness, and he said that the jws produced Nicolas sister and father to witness against him.

  It was the last time he saw them.

  The most important point made, was that the 40000 children of jws in France, are not allowed to make their own decisions but are brought up according to the ideas of their parents and are refused access to outside information that may help them have a more balanced view or to relativise the information given by the jws

  I will try and find out a little more of what he wrote in his book.

  Its starting to sound interesting.

  The miviludes is a gouvernment agency which observes religious sects

  and is committed to garantee respect for republican values and fundamental rights. The UMP is a political party.The daily Miviludes aims to prevent as many of the risks inherent in certain practices harmful to freedom, physical and mental integrity and dignity of man, found in certain religious sects.

  The Jehovahs witnesses have , over several years, been pursuing the miviludes in justice to try and force them to take off their website , under the heading, " Be informed and act", extracts from a book by an ex JW , Nicolas Jacquette, entitled, Nicolas 25 years old, escaped from the jehovahs witnesses.

  The actual court decision is typically long and legally worded, but, in a nutshell, the jws lost. So now they are appealing before the highest court possible ( God apart of course) the European court of justice.
